Energy Efficiency

Mitsidi has extensive experience in energy simulation consultancy: for those who have an architectural project and want to know how to improve energy efficiency, manage thermal loads, or choose the right type of HVAC system, lighting, facade, materials, and orientation, we have the solution!

This was the case for the Emergency Public Hospital project in São Bernardo do Campo, designed by SPBR Arquitetos. This project, which is already under construction, received Mitsidi's energy consultancy and was an international highlight, being published in the GA Document International 2015 magazine.

Occupying a 17,500 m² site, with its main facade facing Joaquim Nabuco Street, the building consists of two main overlapping blocks joined by an open pilotis slab.

With Mitsidi's support, the building's annual energy consumption was calculated, including details for air-cooled and water-cooled chiller options, estimates for natural gas savings for water heating through solar energy, electricity savings from the use of photovoltaic panels, and verification of the internal comfort of the environments.

Through energy simulation, it was also possible to achieve a 24% reduction in the air conditioning thermal load in conjunction with a natural ventilation strategy for some temporary stay areas. This measure made it possible to avoid the installation of air conditioning equipment in an area of 4,000 m², reducing the size of the equipment and, therefore, the total investment cost.
