Standards and Certifications

We translate technical requirements into strategic compliance. We support organizations in the structuring, implementation, and maintenance of certifications and standards, transforming regulatory demands into competitive advantage and institutional credibility.

Standards and Certifications

Standards and certifications are strategic instruments that structure governance, strengthen reputation, and raise the standard of technical and environmental performance for organizations and projects. Mitsidi supports the interpretation, implementation, and consolidation of regulatory requirements, integrating processes, indicators, and controls into the corporate strategy. More than just obtaining seals, we structure solid, auditable, and results-oriented management models that reduce regulatory risks, increase competitiveness, and position companies and assets at higher levels of credibility and market recognition.
Mitsidi works towards obtaining and maintaining the main certifications and standards in the market: NBR 15575 (Performance Standard for residential buildings), LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies), AQUA-HQE, PBE Edifica, ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 50001 (Energy Management), and ABNT PR 2030 (ESG Guidelines). Our work ranges from gap analysis and pre-assessment to support during the certification audit, ensuring technical compliance, reduction of regulatory risks, and proven asset valuation.

Related Services

Thermal, Lighting, and Acoustic Performance

The environmental and comfort performance of a building directly impacts user experience, operational efficiency, and asset valuation, besides being a fundamental requirement for various standards and certifications such as LEED and AQUA.
We offer specialized technical consultancy with thermal, lighting, and acoustic analysis through simulations, modeling, and applicable design recommendations.
We work on the optimization of the building envelope, natural and artificial lighting, HVAC systems, and acoustic insulation solutions.
The strategic integration of these factors raises the standard of construction quality, reduces energy consumption, and strengthens the technical market positioning of the project.

ISO 50001 – Energy Management System

ISO 50001 transforms energy efficiency into a structured management system.
We implement the Energy Management System by integrating indicators, targets, responsibilities, and energy governance into the corporate strategy. We structure processes that enable continuous monitoring, systematic improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
The result is greater CAPEX predictability, OPEX optimization, and the consolidation of energy efficiency as a permanent competitive advantage.

NBR 15575 - Building Performance Standard

NBR 15575 defines performance standards for thermal, lighting, and acoustic comfort in residential buildings.
We operate in technical assessment and support for meeting the standard's requirements, conducting analyses, simulations, and verifications during the design phase or in existing buildings.
We provide well-founded technical reports and adequacy guidelines to design teams. Compliance strengthens construction quality, reduces non-compliance risks, and adds perceived value to the project.

PBE Edifica

PBE Edifica classifies the energy performance of buildings through a nationally recognized label.
We offer full consultancy for assessing new projects or existing buildings, technical data organization, performance modeling, and support for obtaining the label. We work integratively with architecture and engineering teams, as well as developers. Certification boosts competitiveness in tenders, strengthens institutional image, and highlights a structured commitment to energy efficiency and technical building performance.

ISO 14001 - Environmental Management Systems

ISO 14001 consolidates environmental management as a structural part of corporate strategy.
We support your organization in implementing an Environmental Management System aligned with the standard, integrating processes, indicators, operational controls, and environmental governance.
We act from the initial diagnosis to audit preparation, structuring policies, assessing environmental aspects and impacts, meeting legal requirements, and defining continuous improvement goals.
Certification becomes the consequence of a mature management model that strengthens compliance, reduces risks, improves environmental performance, and broadens organizational credibility with the market, clients, and investors.

ABNT PR 2030 – ESG Guidelines

ABNT PR 2030 establishes structured guidelines for sustainability governance and management in organizations.
We support your company in interpreting and implementing the standard's requirements, structuring indicators, processes, policies, and responsibilities aligned with corporate strategy. We work on integrating sustainability into decision-making and organizational planning.
Compliance with ABNT PR 2030 strengthens institutional positioning, broadens market credibility, and consolidates ESG practices in a structured and measurable way

EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies)

EDGE is an international certification recognized by the IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, focused on energy, water, and material efficiency.
We conduct savings potential analysis, technical simulations, measures prioritization, and audit documentation preparation. We monitor the entire process until final certification.
EDGE certification reduces operational costs, increases attractiveness for financiers, and differentiates the project in national and international markets

Frequently Asked Questions

Mitsidi provides consultancy for the market's leading building certifications and labels: LEED, EDGE, AQUA-HQE, PBE Edifica, and PROCEL Edifica — including obtaining the ENCE (National Energy Conservation Label), required in public tenders and increasingly requested by financiers. Additionally, we work on compliance with NBR 15575 (Performance Standard), mandatory for residential buildings in Brazil. Each certification serves different goals: LEED and EDGE are internationally recognized and valued by investors; ENCE is the benchmark for energy efficiency in the national market and public sector.

NBR 15575 is the Brazilian Performance Standard that establishes minimum quality requirements for residential buildings — covering thermal, lighting, acoustic, structural, and durability performance. It has been mandatory for developers and builders since 2013, and non-compliance results in civil liability. Mitsidi performs performance evaluations, computer simulations, and technical reports to ensure the compliance of residential projects.

LEED is the most globally recognized green certification system, evaluating energy efficiency, water use, materials, and indoor environmental quality. EDGE (by the IFC/World Bank) focuses on measurable efficiency gains in energy, water, and embodied energy in materials — ideal for emerging markets. AQUA-HQE is the French certification adapted to Brazil, with a strong focus on the project's environmental management and quality of life. Mitsidi advises which certification is most strategic for each project type and investor profile.

ISO 14001 structures an organization's Environmental Management System (EMS), and ISO 50001 does the same for energy management (EnMS). Mitsidi manages the entire process: compliance diagnosis (gap analysis), structuring of processes and indicators, team training, and preparation for certification audits by accredited bodies. Both standards are often implemented integrally, optimizing resources and facilitating ESG reporting.

ABNT PR 2030 is the Brazilian reference document that establishes guidelines for organizations to align their practices with the Paris Agreement climate goals and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It functions as an ESG governance framework based on national standards, complementing international ones like ISO 14001 and GRI. Mitsidi supports the implementation of ABNT PR 2030 integrated into corporate sustainability strategy, strengthening ESG reports and eligibility for green financing.
