São Paulo Environmental Agreement / SP Net Zero Commitment
The São Paulo Environmental Agreement was an initiative of the State Government of São Paulo, led by CETESB and subsequently succeeded by the Secretariat for the Environment, Infrastructure, and Logistics (SEMIL), with the objective of engaging organizations in the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions. Voluntary in nature, the Agreement sought to encourage the creation of emission inventories, the adoption of climate best practices, and the construction of decarbonization pathways aligned with global goals.
In 2023, the program evolved into the SP Net Zero Commitment (Compromisso SP Carbono Zero), aligned with the UN's Race to Zero campaign and the Climate Action Plan – PAC Net Zero 2050 of the State of São Paulo. The Commitment broadens the strategic vision, encouraging organizations to establish targets, objectives, and emission reduction pathways through 2050, fostering a community of climate leaders with governmental technical support and exchange spaces among participants.
Mitsidi and the Climate Commitment of the State of São Paulo
On June 6, 2023, in an official ceremony, Mitsidi signed the letter of adhesion to the São Paulo Environmental Agreement as a member of the AHK (German-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce), alongside the German Consulate and German companies established in Brazil. This adhesion reinforced Mitsidi’s institutional alignment with state climate mitigation strategies and the construction of a low-carbon economy.
With the program's evolution into the SP Net Zero Commitment, Mitsidi maintained its leadership and received recognition in the SP Net Zero Gold Seal category, granted to organizations committed to the Net Zero 2050 goal. This recognition consolidates the consistency between Mitsidi’s technical expertise in decarbonization and its institutional practice of climate leadership.
