Challenge

Characterize the energy consumption of primary and secondary public schools across 10 states in Northern Mexico, integrating social, economic, and environmental factors.

Mitsidi Performance

Energy audits, data analysis, technical scoping, and financial/legal feasibility studies. Developed a dynamic platform for school registration and real-time calculation of efficiency and PV measures, resulting in a financing-ready implementation plan.

Results

  • The identified opportunities total 97 GWh/year in energy savings (27%), 40,000 tCO₂/year in emission reductions, and US$ 21.1 million/year in cost savings (29%).

  • Key measures include:

  • Efficient lighting (14.40 GWh; 847 tCO₂; US$ 3.44 million);

  • Efficient cooling (14 GWh; 5,718 tCO₂; US$ 3.06 million);

  • Distributed solar generation (82 GWh; 33,296 tCO₂; US$ 17.8 million).
